How long until melatonin starts to work? - melatonin and cipralex interactions

I started a regimine melatonin in a few days, and things do not seem to work. I take 2.5 mg in liquid form. How long until it starts working? I'm tired, not sleeping, and sleeping pills dont work anymore!
